The Rotary Club of Peachtree City, which has achieved both national and international recognition in recent years, in 1967 had its start when a few local business and industrial leaders decided that Peachtree City had grown to the point where it needed its first nationally chartered civic organization and the organizers decided it should be a Rotary Club.

Rotary is a "Service Above Self" organization, a global network of community volunteers who are dedicated to serving the needs of the local and international community.

About 32,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries conduct projects to address today's challenges - including illiteracy, disease, hunger, poverty, lack of clean water, and environmental concerns - while encouraging high ethical standards in all vocations.

The contributions given and the projects undertaken by the Peachtree City Rotary Club during its 40+ years are too numerous to list but current highlights include sponsoring the annual International Festival and Dragon Boat Races and supporting numerous charitable and educational organizations in the Fayette County area, including:
